From depths of our cellar, we bring you this stunning magnum of The Gypsy 2013.
Low yields with small, concentrated berries resulted in a limited production of a little over 150 bottles. Almost 3 years of barrel ageing before making up the final blend, only to bottle the wine and allow it an additional 4 years of bottle age.
A very concentrated, focused blend with layers of deep fruit.
The character is expectedly somewhat “wild”, a little brambly with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, dark spices, with vanilla scents and a distinct, concentrated red-fruit focus.

TASTING NOTES
What started as a barrel tasting with Ken and some local heroes, 6 years ago, has now become an annual December release.
“The Barrel” was the result of a long barrel wine tasting and the concept was to bottle the very best young barrels in the cellar – directly from the barrel, unfiltered and only in numbered magnum and double magnum bottles.
Grapes are from the very finest Mourvèdre vineyards planted in Stellenbosch. This is a smooth, rich wine with powerful black fruit, vanilla, cocoa, and earthy notes.
