Easy drinking wine, great value for money

It is always exciting to find a range of wines that encapsulates a combination of elegance and value for money, making for the perfect everyday drinking wines. Ken Forrester’s Petit range is exactly this, so let us take a closer look.

This range is fruit-forward and offers an easy-drinking example of each of these varietal driven wines. The range has a wide selection with three dry whites, a natural sweet, three dry reds, and a rosé, you are guaranteed to find a wine to please all tastes.

The range of whites offers unmistakable fruit character and a variety of mouthfeels. The Chenin Blanc has quince, pear drop with hints of green apple and a balanced mouthfeel, the Chardonnay has tropical fruits, white peach, kiwi and a creamy palate, and the Sauvignon Blanc has tangy layers of tropical fruits, fig leaf and green grassy notes with a crisp dry finish. For those with a sweet tooth, consider the Petit Natural Sweet, a decidedly moreish wine with a powerhouse of flavours the likes of ripe melon, guava, and pineapple. These white wines are ideal for sipping in the sun or paired with a charcuterie board of cured meats with your favourite cheeses and cut fresh fruits.

The range of reds is unwooded elevating notably the fruit-forward character of each wine. The Cabernet Sauvignon has mulberries and plumbs the Merlot raspberry and cherries, and the Pinotage plum pudding, cherries, and notes of smoky bacon. These wines are deliciously juicy and have soft accessible palates which pair with a selection of grilled or roast meats, the perfect wines for a good old South African braai.

The Rosé is a dry yet fruity blend of Grenache and Viognier, the only blend in the Petit range. It has freshly picked strawberries, rose petals and cherry flavours on the nose that follows through to the palate with delicious ripe raspberries with a delicate finish. This is a versatile wine, effortlessly refreshing a thirst and pairing with a wide range of foods. This rosé goes wonderfully with a salad of watermelon and biltong and even a rich spicy lamb curry.

These easy-drinking wines are elegant, and crafted for everyday drinking, ideal for keeping on hand for an easy mid-week tipple. Petit wines are made to be enjoyed light-heartedly after a day at work or with friends, effortlessly pairing with a range of cuisines.
